Wetland Eco-tour Guide Training Course
Qualified volunteers who would like to enhance their knowledge and skills in wetland interpretation can participate in the Wetland Eco-tour Guide Training Course. After passing the assessments, the volunteer will become a recognized Wetland Eco-tour Guide of HKWP, providing quality interpretation services to visitors.
The 3-day training course:
- Specialised knowledge on wetlands
- Training on interpretation at Wetland Reserve
- Training on interpretation in galleries
- Interpretation techniques and experience sharing
Outline of the Course:
Step 1: Training

Step 1: Training
- Qualified volunteers who would like to become an accredited Eco-tour Guide of HKWP can participate in the Wetland Eco-tour Guide Training Course.
- Volunteers who completed the “12-hour Volunteer Experience Session” will receive regular notice of the course schedule by email.
- After the 3-day training course, volunteers should undergo the “20-hour Interpretation Practice Session” before proceeding to Stage 2.
Step 2: Assessment

Step 2: Assessment
- Volunteers should assist in at least 5 designated guided tours before applying for assessment.
- 2 sessions of assessment include a written test on wetland knowledge and on-site tour evaluation.
- After passing the assessments, volunteers should conduct at least 5 public guided tours within 3 months.
Recognition:
- Participants who have completed the training course and assessments will be awarded the "HKWP Eco-tour Guide” Certificate and be recognized as an accredited “HKWP Eco-tour Guide”.
- HKWP Eco-tour Guides are eligible to enroll other related advanced training courses provided by HKWP.
