
Objectives
- To encourage corporate participation in volunteering for wetland conservation;
- To promote wetland conservation in the private sector ; and
- To benefit the community by drawing contributions from corporations in collaborative initiatives
Target Participants
Participating corporations shall establish their own selection mechanism for the participants and arrange necessary recruitment procedures. A volunteer team comprising 20-30 participants would be desirable.
Programme duration
The collaboration programmes shall be conducted in a period of approximately 12 months. Alternatively, tailor-made programmes could be designed to suit the plans of the participating organization.
Programme content
HKWP shall develop customized programmes in order to invite contributions from participating organizations in nature conservation. These programmes, aiming at conserving the wetlands and benefiting the community, shall include services such as guided tours, workshops, habitat management, exhibitions and roadshows. Besides providing services for visitors of the Park, participating organizations are also encouraged to engage the community by initiatives such as guiding and sponsoring underprivileged groups to visit the vibrant wetlands and wildlife of the HKWP.
Training
HKWP will provide training for participating corporate staff. The content of training will cover basic knowledge of wetland conservation, background and facilities of HKWP, wetland habitats, wildlife identification skills, and interpretation skills. A standard training programme includes 12 hours of lecture and field practice. Meanwhile, tailor-made trainings could be also arranged according to the objectives of the participating organization.
Recognition
In order to address the contributions of the participating organization, certificates will be awarded to participating staff.
