Mangrove Water Snake
Myrrophis bennettii

Mangrove Water Snake is an uncommon medium-sized water snake with a robust body. Its back is olive-grey with many irregular black blotches, and it has stripes in off-white colour along its lower flanks.
They inhabit muddy coastal habitats such as mangroves and mudflats and are active in both day and night. They primarily feed on mudskippers and other small fish. Although they possess mild venom, Mangrove Water Snakes are generally considered not dangerous to humans.
