玉葉金花
Splash-of-white

Mussaenda pubescens

From April to July, Splash-of-white blooms with clusters of small golden flowers. These "golden flowers" are often accompanied by white "jade leaves", displaying a striking contrast. However, these "jade leaves" are actually neither true leaves nor flowers, but rather enlarged, white, leaf-like sepals with long stalks.

Splash-of-white has a close relationship with butterflies - it not only is pollinated by butterflies but also serves as a larval food plant for Staff Sergeant.
