Chinese Ixora is an evergreen shrub native to southern China. During summer and autumn, it produces bright red hemispherical clusters of flowers. Beyond its ornamental value, it is also a nectariferous plant highly favored by nectarivorous insects, especially swallowtail butterflies. Its berries also attract birds to feed on them.
