American Hymenocallis
Hymenocallis littoralis
American Hymenocallis, also known as Spider Lily, is native to Central America and widely used in landscape gardening due to its long flowering period and strong adaptability. While both belong to the Family Liliaceae, its flowers differ from St. John’s Lily: the former species, as compared to the latter, has slenderer white petals that are fused at the base to form a disc-like structure, giving the appearance of a white spider appearing among the shrubs.
