St. John’s Lily
Crinum asiaticum
St. John’s Lily is a native coastal plant that can be found along coastal areas and sandy riverbanks. From its clusters of fleshy leaves with wavy margins, around 10-20 white flowers can emerge. The flowers are fragrant with long, recurved petals, looking elegant with the robust green foliage. Its pale yellow, spherical capsules contain spongy tissue that help the fruits act like buoys and float on water for dispersal and reproduction.
