Pagoda Flower

Clerodendrum japonicum

Pagoda Flower is native to southern China and Southeast Asia, and a common ornamental plant in Hong Kong urban areas. In summer and early autumn, its flowers bloom in thyrse inflorescences, resembling red pagodas rising above the green leaves, hence its common name. Aside from ornamental purpose, its flowers also attract large butterflies such as swallowtails for nectar.
