Clerodendrum cyrtophyllum


Mayflower Glorybower is a native shrub. From June to February, it produces greenish-white flowers with a citrus fragrance. The elongated filaments and style protrude from the corolla. It an excellent nectar source for butterflies. When ripening, its small fruits turn from green to bluish-purple, each backed by persistent red calyces, creating a visually striking display. The butterfly Fluffy Tit, which has recently established local populations, relies on Clerodendrum species as larval food plant.
