Oil-tea Camellia
Camellia oleifera
Oil-tea Camellia is one of Hong Kong’s 11 native camellia species. Its seeds are rich in oil, which is not only edible but also widely used industrially. Furthermore, the residue from seed oil extraction can be compressed into Tea Seed Cake, serving as a natural cleansing agent, making full use of the seeds. It is a traditional woody oil crop of economic importance in the Yangtze River basin and the regions south of it.
