There are installation art models of Black-faced Spoonbill, mudskipper, fiddler crab, shrimp, frog and dragonfly in the plaza. These aluminum animals are replicated with the skills of traditional Chinese paper-folding to display their graceful postures in the wetland world.

There are several oyster shell partitions outside the Ticketing Office. These installation arts are made by a series of gabion walls filled with discarded oyster shells collected from the local oyster farms in Lau Fau Shan.

Along the water channel flowing from the Entry Plaza to the Visitor Centre, there are irregular-shaped stones displaying the natural beauty of wetland landscape. More than 30 vividly posed animal sculptures installed on the stones demonstrate signs of life on wetlands.

A large wall relief on the right hand side of the approaching area shows the way in which water shapes the landscape of wetlands. It also illustrates watermarks and different patterns and footprints left by organisms on muddy and sandy shores as the tide recedes.
