Bird Hides
Three bird hides (Riverside Hide, Fishpond Hide, and Mudflat Hide) in the Wetland Reserve give visitors closer access to the habitats and wildlife. Each hide is equipped with telescopes and field guides.

Visitors can identify landmarks of the park and the surrounding environment visible from the upper level of the three-story hide. Many ducks, ardeids and spoonbills on the tidal channel can also be easily seen from the ground floor and first floor when tide recedes.

Mudflat and birds
Fishpond Hide
The gei wais and fishponds are seen from the two-storey hide. Inside the bird hide, visitors can learn about traditional fisheries and changes of wetland environment in the Inner Deep Bay area from the exhibition panels.

Mudflat Hide
The managed mudflat and a variety of wildlife including high numbers of Black-faced Spoonbills, egrets and herons, day-roosting waders, kingfishers and raptors can be view from the one-story hide.

 

Tidal Information
The area is best explored for waterbirds on a rising tide (Tsim Bei Tsui tidal height at 1.5 to 2.3 meters, high tide is one or two hours after Victoria Harbour).
