黑臉琵鷺
Black-faced Spoonbill
Platalea minor
The black face and the long spoon-like black bill have made Black-Faced Spoonbill a conspicuous waterbird.
In winter and early spring, visitors can come to the Mudflat Bird Hide of Wetland Park and will likely see Black-faced Spoonbills searching for foods with their long bills on the mudflats. Black-faced Spoonbills wade with their heads swinging and the bill opened in the water. Once they sense a prey such as fish, shrimp or crab, they will close their bills rapidly.
Black-Faced Spoonbill is a globally endangered bird that requires our concerns and protection.
